Sites like outbid.lol, ranked by nothing in particular

outbid.lol launched in August 2026 with one page and one idea: a leaderboard where the only way up is to pay more than the row above you. It spread fast, and within weeks there were, by some counts, hundreds of variations on the theme.

This page compares the main kinds. We run one of them, so we have a horse in this race. We have tried to describe the others the way their own pages do, and we say so where a detail is second-hand.

The boards

  1. 01

    outbid.lol

The one that started the wave. An open leaderboard where each bid has to beat the one above it. Press coverage at launch reported a $5 starting bid; check the site for the current rules. Good if you want the biggest crowd and don’t mind everyone seeing your number.

  2. 02

    DailyOutbid.lol

The same idea with a reset: the board clears every 24 hours, so yesterday’s #1 is today’s nobody. Good if you like a fresh start and a short memory.

  3. 03

    The Million Dollar Homepage

The 2005 ancestor. Not a leaderboard at all: a grid of a million pixels at a fixed $1 each, sold once and frozen. It sold out in January 2006 and is still online. You can’t buy in any more, which makes it the only board here where nobody can outbid you.

  4. 04

    PaidOneDollar.com

This one. Minimum $1, and payments with the same email stack. The difference is that amounts are hidden: you see what someone paid only if you paid the same or more.

How they differ

  1. 01

    Can you see the amounts?

On open-bid boards, yes, all of them. Here, only the ones at or below your own.

  2. 02

What does it cost to get in?

It varies by board and changes often. Here it is $1 and has been since the site was a different joke.

  3. 03

    Does the board reset?

Daily boards do. Open-bid boards mostly don’t. This one doesn’t.

  4. 04

    Do payments stack?

Here they do: pay $5 today and $5 next month and your total is $10. Rules elsewhere differ, so read before you bid.

Which one should you pick?

If you want to know exactly what first place costs before you spend anything, pick an open-bid board. If you want a spot that can’t be taken tomorrow by someone adding one dollar to a number they can read, pick the one where they can’t read it.

If you just want to find out how many people have paid a website for a row on a list, that costs a dollar and the answer is on the other side.
